That'a a lovely story about your father Catherine, the howling dream and the wreath...

Recently I have wept in my mother's arms for the first time in my life. I though it was an opening to become closer to her but after speaking with her I understand that her expereince is not the same. Even though she held me close in my sadness for the first time, that has not openend her to me. She is so accustomed to emotions being witheld, the openieng of them does not have the effect of intimacy as it does with me, I seem to have to keep letting go of the idea of a deeper closeness with her over and over again. But it is a shame to think the closest I might be to her is after she is gone. She is 95 now, fit and well.

The blessing I have is the resting place for all the sadness in the Love beyond it all, the Love which holds all the pains and love we experience through lifetimes.

and los of love to you dear Catherine.
from Radha, who contributed to your book many years back...

Dearest Radha,

I feel for you. Our relationships with our mothers can be so complex and painful, for some of us. My mother passed over about 6 years ago and I'm only just now beginning to even be able to grieve for her. There seem to be so many generations before ours that can't express their feelings or even connect with them. What I hear from you is yet another disappointment, yet another rejection.
I know, however, that you have a very deep knowledge of that greater Love, which is indeed, as you say, your blessing. May you be held and comforted by that Love.
Just to let you know that even in the last week I've had some beautiful feedback about how In Case of Spiritual Emergency is helping individuals, so know that your contribution is still making a huge difference to people's lives. Thank you.
So lovely to hear from you. Sending you love and light,
Catherine

Thank you Catherine. It is truly a wonderful thing to simply be honest to the core of the heart, with all her pains and celebrations. Thank you for all you do.
love
Radha
